When emailing a link from FF or IE, to myself or someone else, it only shows up as text in the body of the email. to make it clickable I have to make a hyperlink for the link to be clickable. This happened on outlook.com. Then I checked yahoo, netzero, fastmail. all web based email accounts. I have check mark always underline links in advanced settings, but the link never gets underlined unless I use a hyperlink. Don't know what else to do.

Of course inserting it into a hyperlink is no big deal, but it would be nice to save a few steps when forwarding or emailing a site.

    Thanks

I use gmail as the server and TB is my client. I changed to gmail when our ISP went to Yahoo. I'd used Telecom NZ for years and changed to Telstra Clear (now Vodafone) for lower cost and more Broadband GB's.
I then had to get another email server and decided to go with gmail.
Works OK for me - coming up 2 years now.
Did you find any help from Mozilla link? Neil.

When you start an email with a link in it....and look in the "Format" section - does it say Plain Text or HTML?

    It needs to be HTML.

The articles in the Mozilla link are interesting, but only suggested I make sure firefox was my default browser. When I create a email there is no option for HTML. only plain or rich text.

Gary, in Outlook.com > Options > Writing email > Formatting, Font & Signature > Personal Signature > Rich Text/Edit in HTML/Plain Text is available. Hope this is what you wanted. Neil.

Thanks retiredlearner, I did click on edit in HTML>save, but it did not work. When I forward a page it still does not come up as html in the body of the mail. I'll fool around with it some more later.
for now I'll use insert hyperlink option. I'll close this post out...
