Resolved Ccleaner and Chrome

    Running W8.1
    When I run Ccleaner it stops during process and asks me to close google chrome. It is not open and when I click to close on Ccleaner I then have to force it to close.
    I uninstalled Ccleaner and reinstalled. Getting same issue.

    Hi ceyermann. Open Task Manager and ensure no other Google Chrome processes are running in the background. If you don't want CCleaner deleting the browsing history of Google Chrome then you can also uncheck the appropriate checkbox in the cleaning options of CCleaner.

    I know little about Chrome, but it sounds like the browser is hanging. I've seen CCleaner do the same thing with Firefox (on XP and 7).

    I opened task manager and disabled Chrome. this did not solve issue.
    However I did uncheck Chrome in Ccleaner and issue went away.
