When clicking "save as" on a Word document, the dialog box that would open always used to be "My Documents" folder. That folder could be minimized, or could be maximized to full screen, or could be shrunk to just use a portion of the screen, with a grab handle that would allow it to be enlarged or shrunk.

After making a mouse click somewhere (I don’t know if on that "save as" screen or elsewhere on the desktop) now when I click on "save as" it opens "Libraries\Documents\My Documents\." And it opens it in full screen, without a facility to shrink the window or minimize it. I cannot find a way to reverse this to the default, which was to open a small "save as" window My Documents.

Can anyone suggest a way to restore the default? And by the way, I'm too old to be familiar with navigating around this technology. There are so many things I would like to ask, but can't figure out how to get back to where answers might be. So if anyone can help, would you mind sending me a link to where I might find the answer to: pauldmarch@hotmail.com.

Have you tried double-clicking on the top (blue bar) of the save-as box?

What is your word processor? MS Office? Year?
Does a Right click in the window give you an Option to "Restore ". Neil.

Thank you Mr. Martin and retired learner. Yes, I was able to get my dialog box back by clicking around on the page. It took me awhile to get back here since somehow my user name got changed with the change to Windows live. Anyway now I am back on the BBS albeit with a new user name. This retired learner does still learn, but slowly. Thanks again for the assistance. And if it were not for the kindness of the link being included in the communication to Hotmail, I'm afraid that I wouldn't even have found my way back here. Thanks again.
