I am using Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail. It continually stops responding (crashes) and restarts. I've tried one of the suggestions I've found...that of removing update KB2454825. That update is not listed in my updates..so therefore I didn't find a solution. Thanks.

P.s. Forgot to update my system info before posting. It's been changed now but isn't reflected on this question. Its Windows 7 home Premium, 64 bit, Intel processor 17 4770

    Might dump Windows Live Mail!

I had already done the Essentials update, I only picked the ones I wanted, mail and a couple of others. I went back and installed the others (in case) but will uninstall them. I am using IE 11, so that might be a problem. I've only had this new computer a couple of weeks, but its irritating that windows live mail freezes, then restarts itself without warning. I'll look around to see if the uninstall of IE11 might help?
This is another thing that happens after these crashes:

I will delete message, then the freeze/restart happens, and the emails that I'd just deleted when the crash happened, are still in my inbox and ALSO in my deleted files. I try to delete them and it tells me an unexpected error occurred and it can't delete them. I even went so far as to restore the same emails that were also in the deleted folder. Same thing. I can delete the ones I reinstated, but not the identical copies in my inbox.

    Thanks.

I've been using Live Mail for about two months now, and I think the program itself is buggy. Things that should have worked right off that bat, didn't. I never had that issue with Outlook Express (on XP).

I will continue to use Live Mail, for now, but I am going to find some other email client to replace it, eventually. I have IE 11 installed, too, for what it's worth, and I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit as well.

Well, we're using the same OS, IE and the 64 bit. I'll just keep poking around to see if I can find what's going on. If its them, I sure wish they'd fix it! I'm very diligent about updates so if there was one, I'd get it fast. Thanks a bunch.

I use live mail in both Win 7 and Win 8. No problems at all. Just updated 8 to 8.1 and no problems with it either.
I use 7 more than I use 8 because the wife has stuff on 7 that I haven't moved to 8. Neither one of us have a problem.
I had IE 10 on the Win 7 and then upgraded to IE 11. No problems with WLM at all. Went back to 10 because of the problems with the colors on a couple of the Widgets that I use that is part of Windows. That is the only reason I went back. Don't know if they got it fixed or not.

Good for you, just wish I knew what was going on with this one. I'm using the same programs I had on my others Windows 7 machine, it was 32 bit, and slower processor but that's the only 'changes' so haven't a clue.

Just ran that and no problems detected but there wasn't a category specific to Windows Live Mail, just IE and others..but ran them anyway. I have reverted back to IE10 and will have to wait to see if the problem occurs tomorrow when I get a load of emails. Thanks a bunch.

Good morning. After I reverted to IE 10, I was able to get rid of the buggy deleted/inbox duplicates and the color on my weather gadget became normal instead of fuchsia color and no background color. That was unexpected but welcome. I think I'll stick with IE 10 for a while. I know that sometimes the sequence things are installed can have an effect on programs, I have no clue why my problem occurred. Thanks for all your help.

That was the color my Weather Gadget was. Got worse as time went on.
