    Hi Again!

Well, I'm down to entering the task into Command Prompt, but even though I entered it exactly as written, I keep getting this message:

"Rundll32.exeadvapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file "

I tried leaving spaces after 'exe' and 'dll' but I still get the same message. Do I have to enter & run each one separately? If not, what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks much!

I just ran the command and it worked fine. There should only be one space after the rundll32.exe line. If it doesn't work then don't worry about it and move on to the next step.

Since you PM'd me the logs, in Hijackthis select the following boxes:

    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - (no file)

O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Sun Java Console - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - (no file)

Then click on the Fixed Checked button to remove those items from your machine.

Yes leave the other entries alone.

I still need you to send me the MiniToolBox log.

Click Start< Control Panel< Uninstall a program and remove the following items:

    RealDownloader
    RealPlayer
    RegistryBooster
    Uniblue RegistryBooster
    Unity Web Player
    WildTangent Games
    WildTangent Games App
    Yahoo! Detect

Then once those items have been removed please download and run Autoruns. After you download the zipped folder on your desktop, right click the zipped folder and click Extract All. After the folder has been extracted open the regular folder. Run the autoruns.exe program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator. When you open the program click the Logon Tab and then post a screenshot of the Logon Tab in your next reply.

Also I see that you have Trend Micro Internet Security installed. Are you paying a subscription for the program every year?

    Hi!

I uninstalled "Uniblue Registry Booster" without any problems, but tried to uninstall 'Registry Booster', (I stopped using this program about 2 years ago), but I got error message:

    "Runtime error (at-1:0):

    Cannot Import dll:<utf8>C:YProgram
    FilesYUniblueYRegistryBoosterYInstallerExtensions.dll.

I still use "Real Player" & "Wild Tangent Games ", (and the Real Downloader and "Wild Tangent Games App" and "Yahoo! Detect" aren't listed in Programs & Features). Should I still remove things I still use?

Yes, I pay for Trend Micro every year...do you recommend something better for a reasonable price?

    Thank You!

Well Real Player is not a very good media player application. Windows Media Player and Quicktime are much better at playing a variety of media files. So that's why I would recommend uninstalling Real Player.

Yes I would recommend canceling your subscription and installing SpywareBlaster, Spybot - Search & Destroy, and Microsoft Security Essentials. All of those programs are free so you won't have to pay anything for them.

I still need the Autoruns screenshot.

Thanks. I'm glad you told me about Real Player; I don't use it very often, but I was told to have all 3 players installed, in case I encountered media that only worked in one player & not another one. I'll uninstall it right now.

I missed the instructions for Autorun...how do I get that AND how do I make a screenshot...see, I told you I don't know anything!!

Great news about Anti-Virus program. I'll change it right after I complete the speed-up project.

    Thanks much!

You can install the K-Lite Codec Pack Standard 10.3.0 which allows Windows Media Player to play just about every video and audio file type.

To take a screenshot see this link, How to take a screenshot.

    Hi Evan!

I have Autoruns result; clicked 'PrtSc/SysReq'; & then opened Paint. When I tried to paste Autoruns I got this error message:

    C:\Users\*****\Desktop\autoruns.exe
    Paint cannot read this file.
This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not
    currently supported.

    What did I do wrong?

Sorry for being so unfamiliar with this procedure, but I've never opened Paint; nor have I ever made a screenshot! Thanks for your patience with me!

    Gratefully'

You need to open Autoruns, click on the Logon tab in the program and then press the Print Scrn button on your keyboard to take a screenshot. After that is done, you then open Microsoft Paint and paste the screenshot in Paint and save it as a png file.

If you still don't get how to take a screenshot take a look at this video, How To Take a Screenshot in Any Version of Windows.

We are getting closer but I need you to click on the LOGON tab in Autoruns and take a screenshot of the entire window with all of the startup entries.
