The computer that I just purchased has Win 2 k installed and it doesn't appear to be a complete installation. I believe the OS was imaged and it doesnt allow some functions and it seems to be missing something. In trying to find out just what is going on I find that it is not listed in add-remove programs, and I ccan't find a way to un-install it. I would like to re-install it or go to Win98 SE. But I don't know where to start as I can't find it listed anywhere but System Info. Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.

Before doing anything you'd better explain your problems to the computer manufacturer and find out from them just what you've been given (in the way of OS CDs, etc.) and just what you can do without voiding your warranty.

... the easiest way to get rid of the incompletely installed OS would be to reformat the drive and install a new OS (win9x or w2k) using its cd. You might want to first try doing a repair install of your current w2k installation. Start the install, using your w2k cd, and somewhere along the way the w2k setup program will detect the presence of a w2k installation and ask if you would like to repair it. Answer "yes ", and maybe that will fix the problems.
