    Hello Everyone,

    Using Lenovo 585 laptop (Spanish)
    W.7 Home premium + SP1

When checking details of progrmmes in my Control Panel, I find only the briefest of details.

Previously there used to be the Version No., Date Installed and other relevant details.

I have tried altering the size of the icons to obtain this information but this only alters the size of the icons - (why am I not surprised!)

I suppose that this is now the only detail of the programes that I will be able to obtain in the Control Panel.

Is there any explanation for this change or even, short of opening up the programme and checking on it's details, is there a way to restore the previous view?

This was most useful when wishing to quickly check on available updates for any relevant programme.

    Any advice will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Colinito

Have you toggled through the view dropdown list by the Help button?

My Win7 Control Panel > Programs and Features displays several columns of the sort of details you mention. In that window, click on View, and in the drop-down menu that opens, near the bottom, is Choose details... Click on that and look to see if the details you want have been checked. That list should let you see everything you mentioned.

Let us know how that works, please.

Edit: I see that PeteC got a reply in before I could get mine composed. He's both smart and fast.

Pete, I haven't got W7, but W8.1 opens like your screen shot and on the RIGHT side on the Line above the listed programs - there is a small icon and an arrow head. When you click on that, you can select which way you want to view the Programs.
On your screen shot it looks as if it's Yellow in colour. It's the Tab that starts with the word Organize on the left. Neil.

The yellow spot in the screenshot is the Highlighter in the Snipping Tool which I have used to indicate the icon in question :)

Much quicker than taking the snip into Photoshop and adding a red arrow - which I sometimes do.

    Hello PeteC,

    Thank you for your reply.

In answer to your question - I must admit "NO!" Having gone to that arrow and looked at the Spanish word for details - and clicking on it - Lo and Behold, the "lost" details are there clearly laid out to read.

Thank you for solving the problem. My apologies for appearing somewhat dumb - I shall fall back on my defence of being well past my sell-by-date, not being very proficient in the Spanish language, and go and sit in the corner and learn how to say RED backwards.

(Something so obvious makes me feel really silly!)

    Thanks again, - Thread closed!

    Regards,

    Colinito
