A little more detail as to what you did and what went wrong would be helpful.

Win 7 32 bit will install nicely on a 64 bit PC.

Is your Win 7 Ultimate a full retail version or an Upgrade DVD?

If this is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) disc then it may be tied to a specific set of hardware. OTH it may not be tied and should load.

I would try again - boot from the DVD and select Custom Install, format the drive and follow the on screen instructions through.

Post the make & model of the computer in which you are trying to load Windows.

Presumably you are using USB keyboard/mouse? Make sure they are plugged into USB2 ports, not USB 3 - these are coloured blue on the inside of the socket.

Is this the range of comp you're talking about bebuzz68?
The Acer Veriton L4620G is an ultra small form factor (ULSF) desktop with prices starting at $599. This platform is compatible with the Acer ErgoStand that is easy to set up and connect to a range of Acer monitors to create a streamlined all-in-one system.
Other new models include the Acer Veriton X4620G, a small form factor (SFF) desktop and the Acer Veriton M4620G, a mini tower, both with prices beginning at $619. All models come with a three-year warranty and support up to a third-generation Intel Core i7 processor, which provides significant application and graphics performance benefits compared to prior generations.

Like Pete said - more precise info needed. Neil.

Asus and Acer are slightly different. Neil.

According to the spec of your computer you have 4 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports.

In this thread - Mouse and Keyboard stop working when installing Windows it is stated ....
Hence my question re. which USB ports the mouse & keyboard were plugged into.
