Resolved Huge Problem with FF 25 "Not Responding"

I was having a problem with almost constantly receiving a "not responding" message with the older versions of FF so I updated to 25 when it was released. However, I still am receiving the same messages.

Here's what I've done and still receiving message:
Disabled all add-ons and plug-ins
Done a restart.
Created a new log in when I start FF

Could a slow DSL or router ready to die cause me to receive that message because of not being able to get a constant signal?

UPDATE: Just about to resolve my problems on the other post. It did repair some of the goofy things that FF was doing but I am still having a time with "Not Responding ". I did engage the NoScript Add On but that is such a pain. It slowed the not responding down some but it still happens now and then.

 

I checked my mail at yahoo.com, cruised Facebook and Pinterest all in IE8. There was a lag when clicking different items. There also was a delay when I would scroll down the pages and it would take a few seconds for the page to move. This happens in both browsers.

 

How much graphics RAM do you have, KAL?

 

Another problem I've been having is with the Shockwave Flash Player. It seems to be crashing often or stopping and starting with the error window appearing. It has been updated but still seems to be having problems.

 

Do you have File Hippo on your computer?

Maybe Evan has already covered this, but FH is a great tool to check if all of your software is up to date.

 

James, thanks for the link. I did find a few updates, especially the Shockwave Flash Player, that needed updated. My FF add on was updated but shockwave was not. Now that it has been updated, things seem to run a bit smoother.

Evan, I checked the Crucial site and my memory can be upgraded. That will be in the future. I just have to decide if I want to go that route or consider putting that cost towards upgrading to Windows 7 with the few bucks it would cost for the memory.

I still think that MOST of my problems are due to my router and DSL service. The wireless went out on the router earlier this summer and I am now using an Apple Extreme router for the wireless. But I think the Frontier router is on it's last leg and I'm getting ready to replace it.

Also, our Frontier DSL service has been tinkered with starting this summer. I live in a rural area and they oversold, ran out of blocks for the service and have been upgrading periodically, so needless to say, there are good and bad days. I know this because the Frontier guys eat in my restaurant. They take good care of me and I take good care of them.
