    Hi koakford
How do you access the web what isp do you use ?
What oporation system do you have ?

Wasnt there a let windows detect network settings on the cannot display page try that.
    Im sure its somethin simple.
May be over my head though
Try tools --internet options -- on that panel go to programs on that sheet put a check next to internet explorer should check to see if its the default browser..

Also set your home page to somewhere you choose
You can copy and paste from anywhere on the net --thats on the first page of tools --internet options

    I found this article
Cannot View Page When You Use a FILE:// URL
When you click on a file:// URL that points to a file for which you do not have the required permissions, Internet Explorer may generate the following generic error message: Page cannot be displayed / Cannot find server or DNS Error.
