    Hello Guys,
I have a faulty Graphics Card in a Sony Vaio PCG272M desktop unit.
Can anybody describe or advise how, in detail, I access the desktop unit, how to distinguish the video card, how to remove the card and replace it.
    best Regards

Hi, Is this one of the All in one units? Touchscreen type? Wireless keyboard and mouse and battery powered? Neil.

Hi ppeetteerr, Further to my earlier Post, trying to locate info on your PC I had to assume from the model # PCG272M that it's an All in one. You don't tell us your OS and to narrow down info from Sony, we need your Serial #.
The series start VGCLS 30E or 31N or 32E or 35E or 36N or 37E.
Looking at the specs on Sony's site, it looks as though these units have graphics chip and drivers - no renewable card?
There specs only show how to add RAM.
Please provide the further info as indicated. Neil.

Why do you believe the graphics card is bad? What are the symptoms? Bad graphics can be caused by many things, including the driver or the monitor. Since this does appear to be an all-in-one, it is basically a notebook in a upright case. So as retiredlearner states, the graphics solution is likely integrated into the motherboard and not a separate card.

    Hello Guys,
thanks for your replies but in desperation I took the unit to a repair facility and after tests they have advised that it is both a fauty motherboard and faulty graphics card. (As the pc is appx 7yrs old I think I need to get a new one)
I will therefore mark this thread as resolved.
Once again thanks for you replies
    Regards
