Resolved getting license from Macecraft

    For years I've used JV16 PC tools from Macecraft (in Finland) superb suite. Last week when I went to upgrade to 2014 PLUS get the Gold VIP for 36.00 after paying I did not get the usual license & acknowledgement email. so after a long time I tried sending a message via their website but every time I tried to send a message I got "Timed out, failed to connect" I got the same message on a 2nd computer with a faster connection. They then sent me a email saying "resending license" but there was nothing there - I kept sending replies stating the facts but after 5 days nothing, what can I do? try to purchase again??

    Yes I've checked spam trash that is basic simple stuff, I know - but no luck. thanks.

    Has the 36.00 charge appeared on your online bank balance yet?

    I noticed they have a live help link. Is that how you contacted them?

    Live help is available ONLY if you have a license # - a catch 22 here not so good. Never had this happen before.

    Did you uninstall the old one? Most license #s are available via the Help menu.

    did not install old one, in all previous interactions with Macecraft they sent license # via email, I've never tried help menu - but that contains license for THAT specific edition - do you mean I could use the same number for the upgrade? But if that were the case noone would ever pay for a new edition. Does not make sense to me.

    That is exactly what I tried to do - am trying again. I never did sign up for VIP Gold before.

    I hadn't done an upgrade since the 2005 version. Installed the latest version and dropped my license file in the folder like we used to do. Didn't work, still showed the "60-day trial version. So, I clicked Help > Download my license, filled in my name and email address, closed and re-opened jv16 as instructed and that was all there was to it. I'm now up to date with the latest "jv16 PowerTools 2014 [Platinum VIP]" version, useable on up to "5 personal computers ". :)

    Seems like jv16 is the gold standard among these kinds of utilities?

    Yes the software is tops in the field but they sure dropped the ball on this, I went to their forum and found many such complaints and all with exactly the same stuff I had so it was not just me. They also got one email that said "resending license" but which was empty and they also got an error message " timed out" when they tried to send a message from their website - I did this on THREE computers using three browsers. So anyway all is good now Hooray. let's hope it works right when I run the app.

    BTW i observed on the Macecraft forum that many people had the very same problems, could not get e-mails, and when they sent email it was empty etc. But all is well now.
