Resolved Tune-Up Utilities

I recently downloaded and installed a trial version of Tune-Up Utilities for my Windows 7 system. Everything seemed good and I like the software.

However, when I logged on to their site to buy the product I noticed that the page where I need to enter my credit card number is not a secure site, so I closed that browser window.

I'm in Canada and I see they're in Germany. My question, is this a reputable company? I really don't feel comfortable giving my CC info over a non-secure web page.

Advice?

If you don't feel comfortable with that website. You should go with your first instinct. Is the company name AVG or was I on the wrong website. Can you copy and paste the web link here..

Hi aspirin. Personally I think you will be wasting your money for buying this so called optimization software. There are plenty of ways to speed up your computer for free so I don't trust those types of programs that charge you money for the same process that you can do by yourself.

I tend to agree with Evan. I purchased System Suite 5 some years back, but I couldn't see where it helped me that much (except for Windows 98).

Tune Up Utilities is another great tool, so much so that in August of 2011 AVG actually acquired it because: "AVG Technologies acquired TuneUp in August 2011 because it believes that they share a common mission - to remove some of the headaches of digital life and make our digital worlds simpler to navigate, easier to secure, and more enjoyable to live." It is also important to note that TuneUp can seriously (for want of a better word) 'F' up your system if you don't keep it under control, that being said, if you do handle it well it will blow your socks off

And if you're still awake after that, I also sometimes use CCleaner (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download) too...
