Resolved Bulletin Boards for other OS

I know this is a bit cheeky, but I've searched for several hours around the internet and can't find what I need.

My wife recently wiped out her Win XP net-book. It didn't take kindly to being bathed in Pinot Grigio for 10 hours while it was powered up! Following the example of a close friend, she's switched to an iPad (boo, hiss).

I've been working with Microsoft stuff since Win 3.0, but haven't moved up from XP yet. Even with computer experience going back to when Bill Gates was in high school (ALGOL, FORTRAN and assembly language for both Honeywell DDP and Singer-Link GP4), I'm completely at sea with Apple. It may be easy for a non-computer person to catch on to, but not for someone so long immersed in Windows.

Do any of you multi-lingual guys know of a BBS group like this one for Apple, particularly the iPad?
