I bought from local Maplin store 6 of these Intenso 64GB USB sticks. All worked satisfactory until last week. My son in law is checking one, awaiting his findings. I do agree it must be with Windows software, as all other USB sticks below 64GB are working ok. One of my HD was refused recognition at start up, but now has decided to again function, gremlins are at work apparently.

The name Intenso looks Italian - you may have to seek permission from the '
MAN' himself to use them.
Just thought some Kiwi humour might ease the "tension ". ;) Neil.

The USB 64GB in question apparently recognised in another computer. Error must arise with my copy of Windows 7 64bits Home Premium.

Don't feel bad, I have two USB sticks made by Kingston (1gb & 2gb) that will not function correctly in my version of Windows 7. They work flawlessly in XP though.

Further checks, when USB stick 64Gb is inserted in to socket it shows up in Device Manager>Card Drivers>Intenso Rainbow USB Device. Removing stick Intenso entry is then deleted. Contacted Intenso in Germany, who inform me that the stick in question does not require any drivers. Further they say Windows drivers should be updated - Windows is updated in my computer as when made available.

Is it recognized when running from a Live CD/DVD/USB?

A Live CD/DVD or USB flash drive contains a complete bootable computer operating system (OS). When you boot a computer from it, the OS loads into, and then runs from memory instead of a hard drive. This allows you to run an OS without installing it or making any changes to a computer's current configuration. To create one, download an ISO file containing the OS you want to use, (such as Ubuntu, Slax or Zorin), then use something like ISO Recorder to burn it to a CD/DVD or USB key. Now boot your computer from that disc/key and your computer is now running that OS instead of the one on its hard drive. When you're done, simply reboot your PC from the hard drive.

If it is still not recognized, then the issue is probably hardware related.

I carried out a procedure that came to me by chance and can not be said to be the answer for a perfect solution.

Insert a USB stick 64Gb into the computers USB 2 socket>Control Panel>Disk Manager>Disk Drive>check if USB Stick (Intenso rainbow Stick) is displayed>right click Intenso>click add>select a letter, not one already in use>click OK>restart computer>under computer disk drives on screen, check USB is now showing>if yes, start using USB stick.
