[Problem printing with Canon MX 512]

I am trying to print out online grocery coupons. Last month they printed for me. This time it wont print them. I have uninstalled the printer etc...and reinstalled everything and still no good. I also have installed an optional update from windows update, and before i did that i was not having any problems printing coupons, since then it wont let me print. They keep asking for me to download there printer plugins and all of them are there, but it still wont print.

I have tried all 3 of my browsers: Firefox, Chrome, IE all are up to date. I can print them out on my husbands XP computer but not mine any more.

Can someone help me with this.

I never do Optional updates. Critical Updates are the ones you want to do.

Do you know what/which Optional update you did? If you think that and are certain this optional update is the one that is causing the problem, then just uninstall it.

What happens when you do try to print them? Do you get an error? If so what is the exact wording of the error?

No Error at all, they just don't print.

 

I would say that the site has a problem and not you. Lots of those sites are questionable to begin with. They leave a lot to be desired and will give you stuff worse than cooties that are hard to get rid of.

 

Don't these sites install tracking software on your machine? I've been tempted to print online coupons, but I balk when they say it requires software installation.

 

To be honest I've never come across a coupon site that has tried to install any software on my computer. It's always best to avoid installing software, especially if it's from sites like these. But then again it depends on the software and which site it's coming from; if it's from a reputable coupon site such as… Actually none come to mind…

Having said that, it's okay to trust some online coupon sites, (the ones that don't make you install cr@pware on your computer) those which let you view the code in your browser though

 

Navigate to 'devices and printers',

Select your printer,

Select 'what's printing'.

What do you see? (Whilst trying to print your coupon)

I think I'd reformat and reinstall the OS after reading that thread.

 

The gal that is helping them is good at what she does. Kind of like another Broni that is on here.
