Hello I need some help in locating a tray for a particular printer.

The customer has this model:HP OfficeJet J4550

The issue is there is no paper tray but I don't know if that is the proper name for it. I have attached an image here I found online. Please look at the red arrow I added that points to the part.

The paper sits in there so I assume it is called the tray or paper tray. Would anyone know where online I can get that part? I have searched all over and cant find it. I am also hoping it does not cost much.

    Thanks for an answers

Google for CB780-60045 (That's the part number).

It won't be cheap but you should be able to get it for less than $70

Yep, I agree but generally when you're looking for specific parts you will pay over the odds. The two prices I've seen up to now are $101 & $61.75.

Here's the link for parts here (the $61.75 price).

Note, I've never dealt with them so don't take this as any kind of recommendation.

A cheaper way might be to visit your local printer repair shop. They quite often can help with parts where the printer is too expensive to service and the owner leaves it so he doesn't have to take it to the tip.

I got a paper feeder tray for an Epson from our local repairer for the price of a cup of coffee. Neil.

Google for recycling/electronic recycling in your area or search for old printers being sold for spares or repairs.

If you can find one suitable (a number of HP rinters use that part) then that would be your most cost effective option.

We are a Country of repairers 1st, hoarders then tossers. (when you can't justify hoarding-you toss it).
Local newspapers usually have ads with shops who repair/service PC's and Printers. They're usually tucked away in cheap rental areas and the operators are quite helpful. Neil.

ps. Wildfire, the term tosser in NZ has more than one meaning!

I have thought about doing that Tony. Might be the cheaper way but I am going to check out local shops in case they have that one part and if cheap even better.

Thanks guys for all your help. I will comment soon on what I found.
