My IP address is being 'reported' incorrectly to a site that I frequent (a survey site). I receive a message that I am logging in from a country that is not the one I opened my account in.

I am interested in learning how I might get this corrected so that I can access the site again. I don't know who or what I need to connect with to even begin to resolve this matter.

Some details: I did change my ISP provider recently from Time Warner (Road Runner) to AT&T Uverse. The problem never existed prior to this change, and did not surface for several weeks after the switch. All searches I can do on my own IP address indicate that it is being recognized to be in the right country, although one report shows it existing in a different state within the USA.

Any thoughts or hints would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Bearclaw, my only suggestion is to POST in the Malware Forum and have Broni do a check on your system. Neil.

Have you tried contacting the survey site and talking to them?

I'm with Steve here. Don't think this is malware. Have seen this problem before but don't remember what they did to correct it.

Thanks for the hints, I too do not think this is a malware problem, but it might be that my router has been corrupted(?). I might seek broni's wisdom on that...

I did contact the survey site admin., they say there is nothing they can do as they are just 'middle men' for the actual purveyor. That is probably true but it frustrates me that they surely know how to reach their own client and make an inquiry on behalf of a customer!! grrrrrrrrrrrrr

I will post back if and when I get this resolved as I have a feeling I am not alone in this situation! Can't hurt to have the solution made known!

    Thanks again!

Shut everything off. Then turn the Modem on and let it settle down for a minute or 2, then the Router and let it settle down for a minute, then the Computer and see what happens.

You'll have to contact the site & ask them to fix it.
