Thunderbird hangs after opening message

    Running windows 7 home premium on an asus g73jhm notebook

    running thunderbird 17.0.8

    after opening a message using thunderbird, any subsequent action (like scrolling down or trying to open a differant message, the program hangs

    gmail mail program works fine

    any ideas thanks

    Hi slipperystuff, Have you tried running TB in Safe Mode?

    Go to Help > Expand > Run with Addons Disabled.
    Shut down TB and re-open TB and see if that works. You can then see if an Addon is causing the problem. Neil.
