    Hi all,

Got a weird one here... On one of my user's PCs, her domain profile is set to "Backup ", not "Local ". The last date modified is today, 9/1/2013.

I have Googled all over the place, but everything I find references corrupt profiles and that doesn't really apply here because everything is working perfectly fine for her.

I don't really get why the profile status is Backup.

Furthermore, here is what is strange. Like all my other users, she has a drive mapped to her network shared space. In that space is a BKF file, last modified date of 8/30/2013. This is a 2GB file and I'd like to remove it from the file server. But can I?? Is her "backup" profile of the PC somehow using this? How can I check on the PC if it is even backing up? And even if so, what does Windows file backup have to do with a profile status?

Help! I'm not sure what to do here, but I'd like to fix her profile (IF it even needs fixing) and delete this BKF file if I can. Thanks!

OK, this is even weirder... Right before I posted the OP, her profile was set to "backup ". I rebooted the PC, logged in as her, not the domain admin account I was using, and it was set to "local ". I just logged off, then back in as admin, and it is still "local ".

WEIRD! But I guess all is well...

    The profile is indeed corrupt.

The only sure way I know of resetting this is to backup domain data, delete user from domain & recreate user.
