Is there a way to force Netscape/Mozilla to use an external download manager?

I would like to use Download Manager Plus with Mozilla 1.2.1

    Welcome to the Forum, Labarum!

    Hi Labarum,

Are you referring to Download Accelerator Plus, rather than Download Manager Plus? If so, try this:

Copy dapop.dll from your Download Accelerator Plus folder to your Mozilla plugins folder, and rename it to npdap.dll.

Let us know if this is to what you were referring.

    Thanks Ramona.

Perhaps some folk would offer opinions about the relative merits of Download Accelerator Plus and the internal Netscape download manager.

    Hi Labarum,

My opinion would be to forget DAP, if that is the program to which you refer.

The internal download manager will work sufficiently, but I have never used it. With Netscape, starting with Communicator 3.02b, I have never found a need for a download manager.

    MHO,
