My Windows XP Professional computer freezes whenever I left-click on a link in Outlook Express and often on website URLs.

I've run Malwarebytes and AVG Security 2013 and my system is clean of malware.

It's also a fresh installation of XP with all the Microsoft updates in place.

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thank you,

    bellisimo

By 'freezes' do you mean temporarily or until you restart the system?

By freezing, I mean it dies until I do a Ctl, Alt, Delete and end the task. It happens every time I click on a link. For instance, to reply to you, I had to copy the link and paste it into my browser and hit enter. If I had tried to click on the link, it would have frozen again.

    Thanks for your reply.

Which browser are you using? IE, FF or something else?

    Hi MrBill,

Thanks for your reply. I'm not going to worry about it, because today I'm building a new, much faster machine and this one will be put out to pasture.

    Thanks again,

I posted the problem because it was making me crazy, so much so, that I decided it was time to upgrade to a newer system.

As soon as I decided to build a newer computer, I posted my decision so that no one else would spend any more time trying to find a solution for me.
