Resolved Is it Possible to Password Protect an External Hard Drive?

    I want to protect stuff on my external hard drive and would like to password protect it. Can this be done?:confused:

    TrueCrypt is free open-source disk encryption software for Windows 7/Vista/XP, Mac OS X, and Linux

    BitLocker drive encryption is available in Windows 7 Ultimate and Enterprise editions. (BitLocker To Go Reader).

    Bitlocker will not open. I am going to try True Crypt.

    In my experience over several years TrueCrypt is fine - and free :)
