FireFox (v22) still takes a long time to load certain sites.

This is an issue which I have raised before, (see the thread FireFox / screen freezes when visiting some sites), but even with later releases of FireFox it seems to happen on a fairly regular basis.

I thought that I had isolated a possible issue with Adblock, but disabling this, (and all other add-ons), appears to make no difference.

Consider just one site that I mentioned previously. jsfiddle.com.

Sometimes, more often than not, I can load this site and it takes just a few seconds to load while I watch the 'Initialising the awesome' logo.

At other times, and there is no particular pattern from one day to another, the loading process can take up to around 30-40 or more seconds, effectively locking me out of any other screen or activity.

Has anyone any idea why this should be?

It seems not to be related to add-ons, there is plenty of free memory and a large FireFox cache.

I'm not unduly bothered about the slow loading time but the fact that I cannot access any other activity at the time is intensely annoying.

I just did a quick unofficial test and FF loaded it site slower that IE and Chrome by a couple of seconds.

Is that only site you have issues with? If so - it very well could be the site.

No there are other sites, but I haven't any specific details to hand. Odd links to, for example, news sites, sometimes hang for a while.

So, no, it is not just the one site. I did wonder about Flash which has been reported as causing issues in the past, but afaik I am up-to-date on that anyway.

Incidentally, on Chrome Opera and IE that 'test site' loads normally, (and fast), which rather suggests it is a browser-specific issue.

I noticed that FF 20-22 tends to load certain pages slower if have 3rd party cookies disabled. And some sites that heavily rely upon jquery or similar scripts load slower. I live with clicking the Stop button and then clicking the reload button.
