I wished that no one asked this question before.
I already had doubt on my common sense on 1 antivirus only is allowed to be installed in 1 PC.

More Antivirus program = More protection???
The higher the PC specs, the more should we install antivirus program????

Any real answer is appreciated. :)

Hi scgoh123, You will run into problems installing more than one (1) Anti-virus Program.
Anti-Spyware and Malware programs will run OK with most Anti-virus software to the best of my knowledge.
See my System details. I run MSE as the AV in 4 Home PC's and 1 Laptop.
MBM ASW & SWB as Malware & Spyware protection. Neil.

You may install more than 1 antivirus if you wish, but only 1 should be active at any one time otherwise you will have conflicts and the likelihood of reduced protection. Your degree of protection is increased by using a high quality, proven antivirus.

Viruses have no respect for the PC spec and the same antivirus will protect a basic or high end PC to the same degree.

Like retiredlearner above I use MSE on 2 laptops and a desktop - no issues and never caught a virus. Admittedly my main desktop runs a paid for antivirus - Vipre which I would highly recommend. Never had a virus in 20 years of computing.

If you have two antivirus doing on access scanning, and something bad is found, it is like two big guys trying to pass through a doorway at the same time.

That computer tech had installed two antivirus in my teacher's computer:
    1. Kaspersky Internet Security 2013
    2. SMAD antivirus rev 9.x

We cant have these two run at the same time right? Although SMAD AV stated in their website that they have a 'different method' so that they wont interfere with another active antivirus. Is that true?? And SMAD AV is from Indonesia, I don't think it's a reliable software....

By the way, is Kaspersky is a good antivirus software? I would rather depend on my beloved Avast! antivirus rather than this.....

Obviously not many would be familiar with SMAD AV as it's Indonesian in origin.

Kapersky is highly rated and as Pete and the Doc have affirmed what I suggested, it would be your call based on local knowledge of SMAD.

As long as they don't start a war in your Teacher's PC, your call. Neil.

    So my conclusion:
    1 PC=1 antivirus.

Is this 100% correct before I mark this thread 'resolved'?

    Yes.

When there are two programs fighting over what should be done with an infected file, it can slow the computer and cause other problems. Pick one or the other.
