They talk about my issue on this forum (down below the tutorial)...

    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11738-thumbnail-previews-enable-disable.html

Quote from user at Seven Forums...

"Any way to disable thumbnail viewing on the folders only and show thumbnails for other files like pictures? "

    Reply from person called Brink...

    "Hello iFission,

Sorry, but it's either a all or none setting. "

The above statement clarifies my issue. It's either all thumbnails or no thumbnails. There are no individual settings for each folder to view thumbnails or not.

Probably my last words on this - I disagree with the statement.

    To recap....

In My Pictures or in any other folder I can choose any of the options from the dropdown list - Pictures as icons in My Pictures, Details (my choice) in any other folder.

Not according to what I read at Seven Forums and other places, but I would like to know how you accomplished your feat. I see no such option to have images /files in one folder viewed as icons, and images /files viewed as thumbnails in another folder at the same time.

EDIT: I beg your pardon, I see what you are saying now. You have to choose anything less than medium icons to see photos viewed as icons instead of thumbnails. The icons are so small, and I am used to XP's layout where the icons are bigger.

    Just a followup here...

I talked to the folks at Tracker Software (the makers of PDF-XChange Viewer) about the plain looking pdf file icons on my desktop, and for what it's worth, this what they said...

    Hi James,

Thanks for your e-mail. The desktop is slightly different than other folders, and it's Windows that handles the way files are displayed, and when a thumbnail is available on the desktop the application icon is not shown. This is true for other file formats as well and we have no control over that.

    Kind Regards,
