Download and Install Windows 8.1 Preview

I installed Win 8.1 Preview and liked the new features. Since I spend nearly all my time in the desktop, I had it boot directly into the desktop. I had a couple of programs that didn't seem to be compatible with 8.1, so I decided to revert back to 8.0. I couldn't get the recovery USB drive to work properly, so I used an image I had made four days earlier. I schedule to image my SSD C drive once a week. I submitted a problem report to the developers if the programs that had problems and they all said I needed to uninstall before the upgrade and re-install after the upgrade. I notice that there was a list of programs in the control panel that had an installation date the same as when I installed Win 8.1. The Windows installer must do that automatically for a list of approved programs. I've decided to wait until the final release before I try again. I have read that if you do install the preview, you will have to do a clean install to upgrade to the final release of Win 8.1. Those who want to check out the new features might want to use a computer that is not used for critical work or perhaps a virtual machine.
