Anyone have any experience with this machine?

    Dell Inspiron 620 Desktop Intel Core i3-2120, 500GB, 20" - Black (Windows 7 - 64 bit)

A friend purchased this machine about six months ago from Sam's Club, and never took it out of the box. They now want to sell it for 350.00 - which includes a printer and a two year transferable extended warranty.

I had planned to build a new PC from purchased parts, but this seems like too good of a deal to pass up.

    All comments welcome.

Probably a good buy. I looked at several stores and they have none. Probably been replace by a newer model.

I'm curious. Would an Antec Earthwatts 500 watts power supply fit into a ATX mini-tower? SpywareDr's link (many thanks) reviewed the slim case model, and I believe the i620-3791bk is a mini-tower (I have not seen the unit in person yet).

More than likely it would fit in the regular desktop case on the left, but definitely not in the one on the right. Both are Dell i620 cases.

Yes, the one on the right looks like the slim case style my brother has. It is a fine computer, but I found that doing hardware upgrades is extremely limiting. His slim case will only accept a laptop style DVD/CD drive.

I will view the new Dell sometime tomorrow afternoon. The people that bought it apparently signed up for the wrong computer classes at a local tech school, and for some reason they decided that Windows 7 was too difficult to master (on their own?). Sam's Club would not refund their money because the 90-day return period had expired.

I purchased the machine today, and it seems to running OK from what I can tell, but there is some strange PCI card installed that I cannot identify. It has two coaxial connectors on the back of it, and two green lights to the left of the connectors, and underneath the lights is the word "LINK "

Would this be a TV card?

The back of the card looks just like the first image you linked to.

I called Dell support, but they were of no help. I finally decided to remove the card, and on the bottom it says "WLAN ", so that tells me that it is wireless network card. However, Dell did not include any antennas to mount on the card's connectors. Was that an oversight?

Probably not. You can hook up a coax cable and that is what most do.

The ones I've seen come separate in a little plastic bag in the Dell box; you just screw them on.

You can pick up a couple for $4.60 (USD), including shipping. More here.

You mean loop the cable around and connect both ends to the card's two connectors?

Where would that get you? Like a dog chasing his tail. :D

No, you hook up an antenna or cable box or some type of TV box to it.

I removed the card, and it said "WLAN" on the bottom. I presume it's a wireless network card?

Probably 20 years ago or more, I had a card like that. You could use a coax cable to network 2 PC's together. And that is all it was good for. It was not wireless.
Yours may be something different. Probably do need a couple of antennas.

That sounds more like the old 10BASE2 BNC connector ... a miniature quick connect/disconnect RF connector used for coaxial cable. It features two bayonet lugs on the outside of an otherwise smooth female connector; mating is achieved with only a quarter turn of the male coupling nut.

Wifi antenna connectors are usually threaded.
