I'm trying to install my recently purchased "Logitech USB Headset 20" which uses some standard windows drivers, but at the end of the driver installation cycle it tells me that the driver installation was unsuccessful because it couldn't write to the target (loose translation of the actual error message that is in Swedish). So where do you think Windows is trying to write to, and why can't it?

Make sure the headset is not plugged in during the driver installation.

Well, the headset won't show up in the device manager unless it's plugged in, so in order to try to update the drivers it must be plugged in.

I tried to plug it in, start the driver update dialogue, and remove the headset before it started to install the drivers, but it didn't help. I get the same results as before.

If you plug it in, remove it in Device Manager, and reboot (with it plugged in) does Windows detect it? Does the USB port show any problems in Device Manager?

The USB ports are working since my mouse is using one of the them, so that's not the problem. And about the software, there is none.

Yes, of course. I've tried that list, and by the way, the headset installs without any problems on my dad's computer but he's got an English version of XP.
