Couldn't think of a better title. I have a site that we have to use and it only works with 32-bit IE. That is no problem, but now many times when I click on links in e-mail etc. the PC opens 32-bit by default. The only way I have found to prevent it so far is to already have 64-bit open.

Is there any way to force the 32-bit version to stay in the 'background' so it only gets used when I specifically open it for use at our one site?

IE 64 cannot be the default browser (in Windows 7).

    So, the answer is no.

Also, 64bit IE should have no bearing on how the site works.

I wonder then if there is any way to make it easy to visually differentiate between the 2 versions by regedit? Maybe get different text in the title bar?

IE9 no longer displays page titles, so the known regedits showing you custom titles no longer have any effect.

OK, thanks. BTW TonyT, the site that I have trouble with uses a picture upload add-on that is not compatible with 64-bit IE.

That's strange, what's the name of the add-on? Most such backends are coded to use a standard browser uploader or as a fallback, Flash upload.

It is the "Auctiva Image Uploader" addon.

OK, I see now. It uses an activex control for IE. You can still use their html uploader w/ 64 bit IE.
