    Is this Windows 7?
    32 bit or 64 bit?

    Perhaps my computer is haunted.

    :p

EDIT: No fair making remarks about the problem being between the chair and the keyboard.

Yeah, this is exactly what I have after installing PowerPoint Viewer.

You can safely delete both folders:
    - C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2010
    - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office

Ok the 86/PPT viewer file was deleted.

The other one always tells me that it is in use by another program. Perhaps after a reboot.

Thanks. After all this, perhaps my file associations will go back to normal.... who knows?

Do you mean PowerPoint Viewer folder?

    As for the other one...

    Download, and install Unlocker: http://www.emptyloop.com/unlocker/
    Restart computer.
It'll install under right click menu.

    Open Windows Explorer.
    Navigate to offending folder/file.

Right click on a folder/file. Click Unlocker
    Select Delete from drop-down menu:

    Click OK.
A folder/file will refuse to be deleted, but Unlocker will give you an option to delete on reboot:

    Click Yes.
    Restart computer.

    ==============================================================

If the above doesn't work, try...

    LockHunter: http://lockhunter.com/

    FileASSASSIN: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/fileassassin.html

OK, the Unlocker program did it.

OK finally all the non-Office programs are off my computer. :)

Thanks a lot Broni. Appreciate all the time you took.

FYI, as far as I know, the powerpoint viewer gets installed with Office 2010 when during the install one selects to install the presentation packager, or whatever its called.
