Using IE to clean cookies and web site data or passwords. Using a program like CCleaner or something similar and it isn't set up right will do it also.

    MrBill,

I don't do either of those except rarely.
Even WindowsBBS won't remember be from one visit to the next (ie 2 minutes later).
And it doesn't matter if I "X" our or LogOut.
This happens with both FF and IE

This never happened before with BBS?

PS: I just deleted the last 6 cookies that were all from my multiple login to BBS.
Now all of sudden it remembers me????????

But the very next time it didn't!

Maybe I'll try deleting all cookies plus CCleaner and starting fresh.

It may be leaving the site and re-entering the site, and turning off your PC. Although, you should leave save cookies on, as many sites use cookies to store data, which may include password and user names. In addition, one can manage your cookies by blocking sites of your choice.

    You could try:
Internet Options/browsing history/Settings/Website Data Settings/Caches and databases/check box = Allow website caches and databases.

Just a thought. However, a possible alternative is Norton Identity Safe. It is amazingly intuitive and non-intrusive, and best of all, it works. We find it an invaluable tool. If used, "Remember me" is a moot subject.

    NB,

    Thanks for the info.
I'm using IE8 and can find Internet Options/browsing history/settings but I don't see a Website Data Settings anywhere?

The navigation is for IE10. We have no specific instructions for IE8.
