Well a recent update has caused my camera software to have a dummy spit!

On start up I get a error message : Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library :
this application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way

I have tried to uninstall the Olympus software but it crashes in the process I have removed all shortcuts to open, but they keep coming back because it will not uninstall, will not repair installation even though I have the original disc

Downloaded Malwarebytes to see if there was a problem there, Nope
Running Win7 64bit, with Microsoft Security Essentials

    Any help is appreciated,
    Jac

Yes I tried system restore and also I uninstalled the latest updates, I haven't tried reimaging yet, feel that may be a bit extreme

I have an Olympus Camera as you have, but when I purchased this Laptop around 6 months ago I did not install software for it. Not sure any came with it. All I do is connect via USB port to install latest photos using Picasa free which does the job for me.

I am also running Windows 7 Premium as you are so how did you attempt to un-install the camera software. If you went through Start > Control Panel > Programs and
    Features
which seemed not to work, try Revo uninstaller to see if you have more success. The above also works on my older Laptop with no software installed.

    kind regards,

finally got it to un-instal, but it won't re-instal, no loss as I have other software that seems to do a better Job now

Thanks for posting back with the solution to your issue - Can you tell us which software so others may benefit. Also how you uninstalled the software, through Revo or Programs and Features?

    best regards,

    Hi Tallin,
I did try both methods and Revo worked the Standard uninstall methods left traces that became headaches and may be the cause on it not re-installing

I recently bought a Sony Adventure Camera for use on our motorcycles, the Play Memories software accepts all the camera's we have and I can resize the photo's from there which is all I needed to do really

    Again thanks for the help
    Jac
