    Hi all,

I found "SPEEDTESTANALYSIS.CRX" in my C:\Mozilla folder. I did a Google and it's either a trojan or part of Google Chrome. Also, in the Mozilla folder I found "speedtestanalysis@SpeedAnalysis.com "

I searched thoroughly throughout all my drives and registry and I only found the one instance of the file. However, in the registry I found about 6 instances of speedtestanalysis@SpeedAnalysis.com in the FireFox Extensions folder

I do regular AV and Malware scans and it's never shown.

So, what is it and should I delete it from the registry?

Don't post questions in the Malware Removal forum. No one but our Malware Expert can reply to a thread there. That forum is only for posting Malware logs (as you know from a previous exercise).

    Hi Neil,

I saw that, and I also saw that it was a trojan, too. That's why I was asking which it was. Is there any way to tell?

If you have never had your internet speed tested, submit the file to Virscan.Org and have it scanned by multiple AV scanning engines.
If you have checked your internet speed, then it isn't a trojan.

    Hi Mark,

I haven't checked my speed this year. However, this thing showed up on the 14th of March. I think that's when SeaMonkey updated me to 2.16.2.

I'll go check it out and see if it was part of the update.

Thanks for the info. I Revo'ed it and it's no longer on my system.

I would run Malwarebytes to check and if it isn't a problem - your choice to leave/remove.
As markp62 has suggested the alternate scan is your other option. Neil.

    Hi Neil,

I've MBAM, SuperAntiSpyware, SpyBot S&D, Avast, and an on-line scanner: Nothing was found. So, I Revo'ed it anyway.
