I have a Sony Multi-Card reader which I have been using until recently. I first noticed a problem with my system reported a PCI Input Device was not working properly and not installed properly. Don't know what caused this device to suddenly stop working. It seems that there is no driver associated with this device. Could this be the problem?

Have you went to Device Manager and found a yellow / or ! there? if so, Uninstall it and reboot the computer and see if it finds it. If not, click on it and let it go on line an update the driver.

Don't overlook the fact hat the reader may have given up the ghost.

My sentiments exactly, just buy a new one. I think I have gone trough 2 or 3 in the last 5 years or so. They are cheap enough now to replace.

PCI Input? Is this reader an add-in card, a USB device, or connected internally?

I agree with the others they readers are very cheap, low tech devices so I certainly would not try to "fix" Windows until I was certain the reader was good.

I would try the reader in another USB port or card slot (if not internally connected) and with another computer too.

Note too, the problem could be the card in the reader, and not the reader itself.
