I greatly apologize in advance for posting here if this is the wrong group!
This question involves an EPSON WORKFORCE 545 multifunction machine not even 1 year old:

There is a one VERTICAL streak only when I use the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
It's in the same location and does NOT occur with any other function.
Apparently the ADF scanner is separate from the regular scanner (flatbed) and is about 1 inch by ~ 9 inches covered by what looks like thick cellophane (like a see-through folder). (It is next to the flatbed scanner glass)

I see dirt under the film (thick cellophane) but Epson said not to remove it (this "film ").

Is anyone familiar with gently lifting the film and using a Q-TIP to remove the dirt?

I apologize and thank you in advance!

If it is less than 1 year old - is it covered by a warranty?

I would take it back to the supplier and request they fix / replace the MFP. Neil.

Thanks but I want to avoid the hassle and due broken bones it would be far easier to try to fix it.
Also they will send a replacement but there is a reason the replacement is a replacement.
    ;)

This one will become a replacement too...
    Thanks again!

Hi Tanya, I'm not familiar with Epson ADF scan, but if you feel you can competently clean the streak - go ahead with care.
Be careful not to use solvents which may damage the plastic screen.
It sounds like the streak may be from a wet print copy leaving ink behind.

I would prefer to take the unit back to the supplier as first choice, but I can understand your problems. All the best. Neil.
