    Hi all,

I had to do a repair install on a friend's computer. It went OK, got it reactivated and successfully booted.

However, his daughter's account is no longer there. How do I restore it?

    There isn't a restore function.

    Look here: C:\Documents and Settings
To see if you see her profile. If found, you could copy files to the new profile.

The Backup (and Restore) utility in Windows XP helps you protect your data if your hard disk stops working or your files are accidentally erased. With Backup, you can create a copy of all the data on your hard disk, and then archive it on another storage device, such as an external hard disk, USB flash drive, DVDs, tape, etc.

Then, when the original data on your hard disk is accidentally erased, overwritten, or becomes inaccessible because of a hard disk malfunction, you can restore the data from the archived copy by using the Restore Wizard.

I saw her profile in D & S, so I'll have to copy it all to a new account. Thanks!

As far as Back up and Restore goes, I haven't had much luck — even though I've followed directions. I'll just copy everything to another drive as a back up.

    Thanks, guys.
