express 5.5 sp1 import problem

    I only use Outlook Express for testing and upon testing an import function I get a weird result.

    Import other address book and it display the Address Import Tool the only thing that display in the menu box is " NAB " not other options or mails options are listed. Unable to find anything search microsoft or other OE sites.

    Anyone ever seen this. Have OE 5.5 sp1, have updated all security patches of IE 5.5 sp1. Using win98 2nd.

    Not sure what you telling me to do. Normal address book okay just when I go into Other address book to import nothing display in that windows for different mail softwares.

    If what you are saying is that when you click on Import other address book and no choices apper in a list to select, then it sounds like you OE is missing some components. I would reinstall OE.

    went from i.e. 5.5 sp 1 to 5.5 sp2. that should reinstall o.e. should it not ?

    That depends on how you installed IE, but the default install should include OE. You can always check at windows update website and see if OE is shown as being available, or just open OE after the install and check the version #.

    When I was still on I.E. 5.5 sp1 the import of other address gave the options like for: eudora up to ver 3, netscape, text file etc. was working because I use this function for some testings I do.

    When went to sp2 something must have happened to the keys cuz options were not there.

    Problem has been solved. Did a complete registry clean of outlook express including removing the folder in program files. Reinstalled just OE component and it appears the way it should.
