Keyboard Test

I am simply testing a fix to a keyboard problem I encountered on an old HPZD8000 laptop. Keys were delayed displaying and intermittently skipping. Problem mostly shows up when keyboarding in a browser application - thus my posting here.

I did some searches and found many people with similar problems related to the battery. I have removed the battery and the keyboard seems to be fine now. So - I assume it is OK to to a Test Post and relay an apparent problem solution at the same time.

 

Wow, that's some laptop.

Usually, when you remove the battery, the keyboard, and everything else, quit working immediately.

 

Doc - I should have added that we now must keep the charging cable plugged in to use it. Thus, it is no longer portable - but usable for our purposes.

 

Boy the mind boggles - a longer cable will let you move around the house.
An even longer one - and you could go outdoors.

As you said - you have an old HP laptop - with an equally old battery and a good diagnosis.

My sense of humour made me do it. Neil.
