Resolved Restore 'word' icon on desktop

    WINDOWS XP.I/E 8

    Hi, have lost my desktop icon for Microsoft Word. Seemed to lose it after I downloaded IE 8. I can get to the documents but they can only be read on 'Notebook' mode now.

    Did try system restore to no avail

    Have got vital information on Word that I need to use regularly so am really worried.

    Be grateful of any help please.

    Start->ALL Programs->MS OFFICE-> right click on WORD and select "Send to Desktop. "

    Every time i post on here you tell me off for something or another!:mad:
    Never been accused of having bad manners before.

    I marked the thread as solved because I downloaded the Microsoft Works suite again and it worked. Apologies for not telling you.
