Hello, I had a monitor that was about 8yrs old. It started to get a pink hue to it & kept going to "sleep" I guess u would call it. So I bought a new monitor today & the new Monitor is still going to "sleep ". I bought a new Dell Tower (Inspiron 620,I-5 ) in late Oct. My old Dell I believe had started the Monitor problem before I bought the new one. Any ideas, the dell is of course under Warranty.
    Thanks,
    ~Paul

When does it go to sleep? After you quit using the PC for a period of time?

Check out the settings in Power Options .....

Control Panel > Power Options > Choose when to turn off the Display.

hi PeteC & Mr Bill, The monitor goes of within a minute maybe 2. Soon as I don't move around mouse etc. I have gone into all the Power Settings & changed to "NEVER" on them all.

No PeteC, It has not. The Monitor,s screen still goes blank, there is no light blinking on the Monitor as if it were to go into "Sleep" etc. The on light stays BLUE. Before I did the settings & the PC & Display went into sleep mode the blue light blinked. I was thinking of my cable that goes from back of PC to back of Monitor. I used the oler cable . Its longer, but later I'll try the new shorter cable & let u know.
    Thanks,~Paul

Maybe it's a screen saver...that has issues? Make sure that SS are disabled.

AMAZZZZING, I went ahead & changed my cable. I think its the VGA cable. It has the Blue ends with 2 long screws on the part of cable. Well Steve R Jones U Da Man...I was looking at the screensaver constantly but it was saying "BLANK" so I thought the SS was off, nope I had to move it to "NONE" & its a miracle
Thanks so much this drove me NUTSO!!!
