I have the above mentioned machine and I'm trying to find a micro sd card when I put it in the reader but it doesn't show up in the computer window when I look for it under drives. I want to load some pics on it to put in a didgital pic frame. Why isn't it coming up? I've updated all my drives thru windows updater. Or am I using the wrong card type?

What is "it "? Do you mean you attached the reader to the laptop, or you inserted the card into the laptop's own reader?

If you used the same reader on both your machine and the laptop, you need to try the card in a second reader. If you tried the card in a second reader on the second machine (the laptop) then the card is likely bad, or the data on it corrupt.

Tip|Warning: Do not use a standard male-to-male USB cable to connect two computers. It will not work and may cause electrical surges that could damage the ports, power supplies and/or ither internal electronics on both computers.

You can however connect two computers with a proper USB-USB cable. More info here: Connecting Two PCs Using a USB-USB Cable

Here's another link to Digitus Brand peer to peer USB Netlink Adapter.
    DN 3004-1 VPR 3.0.
This unit cost me about $25 NZ 3 years ago. It comes with a mini CD Software which you install to both of the computers, then you follow the instructions from the Program to connect both comps through USB and transfer whatever you need between them.
    Works a treat. Neil.
