My church has had a website running for several years with no significant problems. Suddenly a dozen or so members are unable to access the site. They're using a variety of ISP's, browsers, and Windows versions. So far I can't see a common thread.

I'm not able to physically work with each system. Any ideas come to mind?

    The site is at http://www.uucs.org

    Link works for me.

What happens/doesn't happen when the people fail to connect? Do they get any error messages?

I did some checking and the site is hosted on GoDaddy's secureserver, which has recently been in the news because a great amount of the sites they host have been compromised (taken over by criminals) so it could very well be that some ISP's, Companies or security software is blocking access to their IP addresses.

You can confirm this by having those affected run tracert www.uucs.org from a command prompt.

Users report that "nothing" happens - a blank screen. It's hard to get good information over the phone from people who aren't very computer-literate.

    Thanks, I'll pursue that idea.

FWIW, I can get to uucs.org using my tablet and smartphone (both on T-Mobile 4G), and our company network (Paetec/Windstream). I cannot get to it when using two different BellSouth DSL connections, (one at home and another at work).

It doesn't have anything to do with the computer either because I can toggle between the Paetec and Bellsouth networks here on this one computer. When I'm on Paetec, I can get to uucs.org. Flip to Bellsouth and I can't. (The DNS servers on both network cards are set to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).

Wow. I have two Windstream users who can't get to the site, but if I hook them up to Charter, all is good.

Just tried uucs.org again this morning from home on Bellsouth and no go. It time's out. No problem whatsoever though on Paetec or T-Mobile 4G.

So as indicated, this isn't a client problem, but looks like ISP or other service providers related.
