    I had been having problems with Win7 at boot-up for some time. I use Norton 360 and it provided a remote repair which I accepted. Good news and bad news.

    Good part:They were able to get the system flying with no errors showing up at boot up and faster.

    Bad part: They had problems with Firefox crashing (which did not have) and did an uninstall and reinstall of FF.

    However, all my old bookmarks and add-ons are gone.

    I used to backup the FF settings with a untility (Moz???) but can not find the file it created in order to restore.

    Is there any file/location/way where I might be able to get years and years of bookmarks for restoration?

    Typically, your Mozilla-related programs create their profile called: "default ". If your previous profile had a different name, it may have created (or used) a "default" profile, which would be bare bones.
    If you don't know what I am talking about, the answer may lie somewhere else. Refer to this:
    to find your profiles.

    When I searched as you suggested, my results were as follows. Unfortunately, I can not find that path on my machine. Any other ideas are welcome. Thanks for the reply.

    [General]
    StartWithLastProfile=1

    [Profile0]
    Name=Clarence
    IsRelative=0
    Path=C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Profiles\wvx7xuat.Clarence
    Default=1

    Sorry, I don't have Win7, so I can't say why the path which I gave you differs from the one I gave you. I don't know the meaning of the "Roaming" part, but, otherwise my entire path should have been like this: C:\Users\User\AppData\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
    I don't know about he % part, and, if you have right path, you should have a list of the Profiles. For privacy, the part including "default" should, never, be listed.

    I have Firefox installed on XP Professional but I think it may be the same on Windows 7. If you have enabled the "run-box ", click Start > Run > type in: firefox.exe -profilemanager (a space between firefox.exe and -profilemanager) > OK and the profile manager should start. If it exists, select your self-created profile as the default.

    A bit of progress, but no cigar

    Thanks for the reply. I was able to restore part of my previous info, but it was quite a bit old.

    So I guess I'll just have to rebuild as I find bookmarks and some other items such as add-ons and toolbars as I "refind" them.
