How do I consolidate all the music folders that Windows Media Player has generated. I have a folder called "Music" and a subfolder called "music" and "my music" and then a sub-subfolder called "music ". I spent days cleaning this all up and a week later I have the same problem. I wasn't sure whether itunes was generating it or the Windows Media Player, but I did see a message that Windows Media Player generates multiple folders for music. So I would like a simple method for cleaning this up and a way of preventing it from happening in the future.

I don't know if it is the same problem, but I was asked to help with a Music/Music/Music folder yesterday. I opened the lowest folder which had the bulk the music files (folders) in it, went to Organise -> Select All, then cut and pasted them into the highest folder.

If you get them sorted, watch what happens when you use either Media Player or Itunes, although both of them might be set to manage the music library and they are conflicting.

Only a suggestion, I really don't use either. If I want a music manager, it is me :D

I would do it manually with the help of windows default search functionality.
