external hard drive access

    i used a now forgotten free program on-line to secure an external hard-drive and I am now unable to remember the name, therefore, I can not access my external hard drive.
    any suggestions?

    Doesn't the drive give you any hint at what the program was?

    no, it just says it is password protected

    I suppose a lot depends on whether the data is simply password protected or actually encrypted. If its encrypted, then you're probably SOL :(

    If its not encrypted, you might be able to access the data using a Linux system.

    There is nothing to worry. If data is important opt for a password recovery software and get your access back.
