Hi there, I have a Lx6810-01 and when i start it, it loads with the gateway window which shows options for BOOT and BIOS.

Next it list a screen that says MEdia Shield Rom Bios10.0.0.35rpt

    detecting storage devices...
    1 heakthy Nvidia stripe 596.17g
    2 0.1 atapi dvd a dh16a6s

it then says to push f9 to enter raid utility... after that it goes to another screen

Reboot and Select proper Boot device or insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key..

I have ready a bunch of postings but nothing comes close to what to giving me any information. I decided to post here because i found a posting about a fan issue somewhere. Please help me!!!

sorry i forgot to mention i don't have a bootable disc for this otherwise i'd try booting from the disc. I got this from my brother-in-law and he said it was working but got a new one because his work required higher operating computers.

Hi oldmanjim, Have you tried disconnecting your CD Rom drive?
It would help us if you took the time to fill in your "System Details ".
Under UserCP (Top left of this page) and read and fill in and Save before closing.
    Cheers Neil.

Check & see if the hard drive is detected in the BIOS. Sounds like the hard rive has failed.

ok Arie, i open the bios and check standard cmos only things listed is system time and date also halt on.

in the boot menu, i have listed
    usb generic compact
    usb generic sm/xd-picture
    usb generic sm/mmc
    usb generic ms/ms-pro
    raid: ary01 nvidia stripe 596
    raid dsk02 atapi dvd a dh16a

I have tried selecting raid ary01 and got nothing, as to note i tired them all.

Also i tried f9 which show my array list and it says

boot with a check, status is healthy, vendor is nvidia, array is stripe, size is 596.17g

    any help will do..

Question could i pull the drive and run it with a cord that has a usb connector and check it on another computer?

Yes, you can. That'll let you confirm if it is the hard drive that died (or not).

Download & Burn to disk the "Dos" version, so you boot off the CD instead.

OK thanks, what's the easiest way to find out what drive I have? Should I take it about, or would the bios tell me?

Your BIOS might list the drive, but looking at the drive itself is a good option.

Yes, that would be the software needed to run diagnostics on that drive.
