We are updating all the PCs in our computer club to run Win 7.
Also, we would ideally like to update all the Office suites to Office 2010 Pro because we use Word, PowerPoint and Publisher, but that would be prohibitively expensive.
We could afford to update to 2010 Home & Student because that is available for under £100 for three seats, but it does not include Publisher.
Is it possible or advisable to run Office 2010 alongside just the Publisher component from Office 2003 on the same PC? (We already have Office 2003 Pro).

I would appreciate any advice. We have eight PCs and a maximum of £500 available to buy Office to run on them.

    Thanks,
    Geoff

Back when I was still using Office 2000/2003, and experimenting with that darned Ribbon on Office 2007, the rule was to install the oldest version first. This would have the effect of making the newest version handle all the files that it can, which would then theoretically leave your older version of Publisher free to handle Publisher files.

But I would often run 2007 alongside an older version of Word, without system conflicts or anything. The only problem was file associations, which problem for Publisher shouldn't exist (because there is only one version of Publisher that is to be installed on your computers).
