    Hi all.
I am on my laptop, because my desktop will not let me log on to the bbs.
I am getting a "HTTP 403 Forbidden" error.

This happened after I installed Avant Browser.
Avant and IE8 will not go to the login page.

Any way I can fix this?

    Sven

OK, I uninstalled Avant and rebooted, but still no joy.
I still get the error in IE8.

    How to fix that?

    Thanks
    Sven

Your system is still announcing the presence of Avant Browser, so if you did uninstall it, it left stuff behind, probably in the registry.

    Hi Arie,

    Thanks for helping me.
I have tried to fix the registry by going to regedit / edit/ find and typed Avant. It found 1 entry in the silverlight section. I don’t think that has anything to do with it, but I uninstalled silverlight anyways.

Also I went to start/search/ and typed avant and have it look in all folders including hidden files and I can not find any thing.
So I tried the time machine --restore point --, but it gives me an error that it could not restore to that point. I tried 3 different ones. The last one did do a restore.
I an happy to tell you that this did the trick.
Q: why was there no mention in the registry?

    Regards

    Sven
