I have been building a new computer. I put my old ComproTV Gold Plus Tuner Card in Windows 7.
I love this card/company, they have all the drivers and (updated) software you need for free (Hauppauge, are you listening?).

Plus I LOVE the features. I can go to a webpage with TV listings, click on it, and it automatically adds it to record. I can have my computer off in the middle of the night, it will boot up, record the program, then shut down. Next time I start my computer up, it has a show recorded. I watch it by sliding it over to the TV.

Now, in Windows 7, when I close the program, it appears to shut down OK, but a few seconds later a message pops up saying the program didn't shut down. I can't have my computer automatically shut down with the program still open.
What is wrong? How do I fix it?

    Here is the information;

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Application Name: ComproDTV.exe
    Application Version: 4.5.7.74
    Application Timestamp: 4d92967c
    Fault Module Name: ntdll.dll
    Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.17725
    Fault Module Timestamp: 4ec49b8f

    Exception Offset: 000847db
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3

    Additional Information 3: de1c
    Additional Information 4: de1cb7d27a97526880bbbc7c76f5d78a

Here is a link to see how cool this card works and how I slide it over and watch on TV. This is a few years a go. I have a big 16:9 Smart TV now. (P.S. I was doing this 10 years a go. Total Geeks where amazed).

If you installed the latest drivers, you'd have to ask them for support, as their program is causing the problem...

The program probably installs a part of it that runs as a service, which will be set to auto, manual or disabled. You may have to kill the service to fully close the program.

Then why have a forum "Other PC Software?" Wouldn't that be the answer to all the "other software" questions?

    1. Feel free to ask, don't be surprised if no one answers
    2. I doubt there are many people using the "ComproTV Gold Plus Tuner Card" who are also a member here

I just made a suggestion that makes the most sense (to me anyway).

No one answers? I got an answer from Tony T.

I never knew someone would have to use the exact software to know how to make a program close.

*Someone told me he added more RAM into his computer and it wasn't recognized. I told him to take the RAM out and put it back in. He did it, it worked. I'm not using his brand or even that type of RAM. I was able to help without using his brand or type.

Thank you for trying to help, Arie. I've known you to be one of the best helps on the internet. Keep up the good work!

    Chris.
